For tourists interested in Big Bear Boating activities, Big Bear Lake has excellent, well-maintained public launch ramps, operated by the Municipal Water District. Launching is permitted 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Ramp Office Hours: Midweek 7: am to 3: pm closed Tuesday & Wednesday. Weekends & Holidays: 6 am to 6 pm. Lake use permits required for all boats on Big Bear Lake. Permit fees for year 2001.

Seasonal Permits: Registered boats- $65.00 (motorized boats & sailboats over 8 feet in length). $10.00 senior discount. Non-registered boats- $25.00 Non-motorized boats (rowboats, canoes, kayaks, float-tubes & sailboards) Sailboats 8 feet or less in length.

Daily permits: all boats & sailboards- $15.00. Each additional consecutive day $10.00 Float tubes-$5.00. The daily permit may be applied toward the cost of a seasonal permit.

Permit must be displayed on boat and is non-transferable. Season permits are valid for one year from April 1st. Permits are available at most Marinas, MWD Office & Lake Patrol Boats. Lake Use Permits may be revoked for violation of any law. Further Information call 909 866-5796.
