Congressman Paul Cook (R- Apple Valley)
issued the following statement on Veterans Day:
"We pause to recognize the heroes among us on this Veterans Day. I
join everyone across the nation in paying tribute to the service members who
defend our freedom. I’d like to thank every veteran, and those currently
serving, for their incredible sacrifice.
"As we honor our veterans every
year on the 11th day of the 11th month, it is important to remember veterans
fought every day for the freedoms we enjoy. Having served in the Marine Corps
for 26 years, I have witnessed the tremendous bravery and sacrifice of my

A member of the House Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, Veterans’ Affairs
Committees, Cook served as an infantry officer and retired after 26 years as a
Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in combat, he was awarded the
Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
