Regional Division-Running Springs California Highway Patrol initiated a pursuit of
a possible DUI driver, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at approximately 2:30 P.M.
A Silver Ford Edge, traveling up-bound State
Route-18 in the Lakeview Point area, erratically. The pursuit by Patrol
officers continued through Running Springs, through to the community of Big
Bear Lake on Big Bear Boulevard and continued to travel east through Big Bear City to State
Route-38. The Ford Edge driver continued driving on SR-38 down-hill
toward Angelus Oaks. A spike strip was
successfully deployed at the Forest Falls turn-out.
San
Bernardino Area California Highway Patrol Units took over the pursuit
for approximately 1 minute before the driver pulled to the right shoulder area
and stopped. The suspect driver was non-compliant and would not follow
commands barricading himself inside his vehicle. The driver’s side
window was broken out before officers made an approach due to heavily tinted
windows.
The subject resisted apprehension upon the
officers approach, but the suspect was ultimately removed from the vehicle and
taken into custody.
The
suspect was positively identified as Alon Danker, age 31. Danker is facing a
combination of charges of 2800.2(a) VC, 148(a) PC, and 23152 (g)
V.C.

the charges are:
Evading Arrest while driving with a willful or
wanton disregarding for the safety of others
If a person flees or attempts to elude a pursuing
peace officer
The pursued vehicle is driven in a willful or wanton
disregard for the safety of persons or property
Disregard for the safety of persons or property
Resisting/Delaying a Peace Officer in their duties
Every person who willfully resists, delays, or
obstructs any public officer, peace officer, or an emergency medical technician
Under the Influence of a combination of Alcohol and
Drugs
Under the combined influence of any alcoholic
beverage and drug to drive a vehicle
