After serving for eight years, including
three-years as the current Board President of the Big Bear Airport, Steve Castillo feels he’s
learned a lot about the function of the Board and wants to continue utilizing
those skills and experience to guide the near future of the Airport.
Castillo, is a
highly experienced Corporate Pilot with more than 24-years of professional
service.
For the past eight-years as a Chief Pilot for a Corporate Flight
department, Castillo is currently the Lead Captain flying a Citation-X
for one of the largest Charter Management companies in California. With 37-years of overall
aviation experience, his early
career includes employment with the Los Angeles County Airport System, of which
owns seven of the Los Angeles area airports.
While employed there he learned many aspects of airport
operations which give him a unique understanding of the airports specific
needs, and staff functions. Castillo keeps up-to-date on airport operations
as he visits many airports throughout the country on a regular basis.
His many
years of community service has also given him a unique perspective on the
important relationship between airport management and community outreach.
Steve Castillo encourages the community to keep informed about
the progression of the Airport by attending the regular monthly Big Bear
Airport District Board meetings; as he encourages the Big
Bear Airport District Board to continue the practice of transparency. Steve
