The Post Office in Fawnskin, California serves the North Shore community of approximately 350 residents. It offers all Postal services from shipping to mail boxes. There is no street delivery in the community. Passports with photos are processed on site. Anyone needing passports on Saturdays are by appointment only. The Post Office is located on the north shore of Big Bear Lake in the historical town of Fawnskin. The first Fawnskin Post Office was established in 1918 that eventually was housed in several locations from Moon Camp area, to a small cabin and the Gold Pan Café. The present post office building was built in 1983 and was recognized by President Ronald Reagan.
Once again it was rededicated in 2005 following major repairs to the building after it suffered extensive damage from flooding. The Fawnskin neighbors take great pride in the upkeep of the post office where passerby’s can also take pleasure in the beautiful memorial garden.
