Historic Restaurant - American & German Specialties.
At the turn of the century the Log Cabin was originally established as a private residence for the Abers Family. It was later turned into an ice house. By the early 1930’s the owners began to sell ice cream and then opened a deli, café and bakery.
In the 1950’s George and Zigi Hakmannis renovated the Log Cabin, adding a full commercial bakery and additional rooms. They offered a menu that included several European selections which are still on the menu today as Hakmannis’s original recipe.
In 1971, Serge & Josette Cahoreau from Paris, France, bought the restaurant, keeping the continental cuisine established by the Hakmannis; they added a full liquor license and bar in 1973.
In 1978 the Cahoreau’s sold the property to Bob and Barbara LeCroy. They expanded the Log Cabin and built the outside patio area. They kept the 30 year-old menu items and added some healthier choices.
In 2005 the LeCroy’s sold their interest to Liko Smith and Marc Frank Montoya, owners of THE BLOCK Hotels. Liko and Marc have expanded the bar, totally renovated the inside of the restaurant, renovated the patio, and added onto the traditional menu. Liko and Marc intend on keeping the history of the Log Cabin intact.
