Kevin Alsop of Big Bear American Made Choppers has literally made a custom chopper that’s breaks the price barrier. In other words he’s made a righteously affordable rigid. Kevin makes high-end customs, and now, makes custom choppers available to the average guy. He sells complete kits that customers can assemble and paint, or Kevin will do the assembly and custom paint, for a few hundred dollars. He has been in business in Big Bear for about three years, and has just moved into a 1500 sq ft shop and getting ready to double the size to accommodate his orders which come from all over the country. Big Bear Choppers has a simple philosophy….quality and workmanship above anything else. They build their motorcycles, one bike at a time, working closely with the customer, who is usually involved in the project. Kevin makes sure his customers get the style they envisioned.
  • Big Bear Choppers Custom “Grizzly” was picked as one of “Easyrider’s” top 100 bikes of the Year 2000. The same high-end custom was featured on the cover and centerfold in the December 2000 issue of Easyriders and V-Twin Magazine, and their $10,995 Custom Rigid Chopper was featured in the October 2001 issue of Easyriders Magazine.
