Join the Snow Summit Race Teams! - Comprehensive ski racing programs designed to improve skiing technique, competitive attitudes, sportsmanship and work ethic. The Snow Summit Race Team has been represented regularly at the Junior Olympics and Federation Internationale de Ski (FIS) races.
Provide a total training environment from mastery of skiing skills to junior Olympic and FIS level competition .
Coached by a Full-Time professional USSA certified coaching staff.
Train racers in physical preparation, ski preparation, ski technique and racing theory.
Training follows the US Ski Team Managed Athlete Program (M.A.P.) and the US Ski Team Basic Alpine Skill Evaluation (B.A.S.E.) Test.
Full-Time Race Team. The Full-Time Race Program provides the 8-12 year old racer (J4-J5) five days of training and the 13-19 year old racer (J1 –J3) six days of training with professional US Ski Association certified coaches.
There is a minimum skill level for acceptance in the Full-Time Program. The season runs from approximately mid-November to Mid-April. Races are held primarily in Southern California for the 8-12 year olds and across California and Nevada for the13-19 year olds. Racers that excel have the opportunity to qualify for regional and national events.
Weekend Race Team. The Weekend Race Team is a program for skilled racers ages 8 to 19 who don’t reside in the Big Bear area or locals, who because of their school activities cannot commit to 5 or 6 days of training a week.
Weekend Development Team. The Development Team is for younger racers (ages 6 to 16) who want skill development and low key recreational racing. Development team members will train approximately 4 hours a day on Saturdays and Sundays in the mornings and early afternoon from December 1st to March 17th weather permitting.
