in Wife’s Death by Husband
Tuesday, December 1, 2020, Fort Irwin Military Police
requested San Bernardino County Sheriff Specialized Detectives to conduct a
death investigation at Fort Irwin, California. The
Sheriff Detectives learned that Ervin Padgett
was hospitalized Monday, November 30, 2020.
Tuesday, December 1, 2020, hospital personnel contacted Fort
Irwin Military Police and asked them to conduct a welfare check of Ervin’s
wife, Rebecca Padgett. At that time Military Police responded to the family
home on Chuckawalla Court and found Rebecca deceased from an apparent gunshot
wound.
SBCS Detectives determined Ervin Padgett was
responsible for Rebecca Padgett’s death. An arrest warrant was issued for
Ervin, for the murder of Rebecca. Sheriff’s homicide, with the assistance of
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, contacted Ervin in Las Vegas and arrested him
for his warrant. Ervin Padgett was booked into the Clark County Detention
Center and will be extradited to California after his extradition proceedings
have been completed.
