Governing Board Clerk, Paul
Zamoyta
announced his resignation at the October 5, 2016 board meeting of the Bear
Valley Unified School District.
With
his resignation effective immediately, Zamoyta addressed the Governing Board
Members, staff members, and public present at the meeting, thanking them for
the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community of Bear Valley.
Zamoyta
stepped down from his governing board member seat to allow his wife to apply
for a teaching position within the district. Zamoyta explained the process
taken to come to this difficult decision, noting the school board is working
well together, the district has a great superintendent in place, and he felt
the BVUS District was in good hands.
Zamoyta
was first elected to the Bear Valley Unified School District Governing Board in
November 2008, re-elected in November of 2012. He brought to the board a
forward thinking approach to problem solving and always sought out the best and
most innovative opportunities for the students of the Big Bear Valley.
Zamoyta’s dedication to the students, district, and the entire Big Bear Valley
will be missed on the board.
The
Governing Board will begin steps to fill Paul Zamoyta’s vacant position and is
currently working with legal counsel on the time-line for the appointment
process.
