CLOSURES & CHECKPOINTS
California ____ The California Highway
Patrol (CHP), San Gorgonio Pass Headquarters and the California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 is providing the following information
regarding road closures and checkpoints related to the storms on February 14,
2019, and February 20, 2019.
STATE ROUTE -243 remains closed from INTERSTATE-10 to Idyllwild due to
extensive damage and roadway loss.
STATE ROUTE -74
remains closed from Valle Vista at
Borco to Mountain Center.

Cove area will be restricted while Caltrans repairs the damaged roads from the
rain and snow storms.

thank both the residents and visitors for their patience while we help the Idyllwild
community recover from these storms.”
CHECKPOINTS - The California Highway Patrol will be setting up a checkpoint on STATE ROUTE -74 near
Lake Hemet from Friday morning, February 22nd through Sunday evening,
February 23rd to ensure only residents, cabin occupants, and
business owners/employees have access to the Idyllwild Pine Cove and Mountain
Center areas. Please be prepared to provide proof of residency, occupancy,
ownership, rental, etc.
