Most of the recreation sites on the San Bernardino National Forest will be open for forest visitors by Memorial Day weekend. “The forest is ready for the 2010 summer recreation season & forest officials encourage visitors to be aware of their responsibilities when visiting the forest. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe & enjoyable visit while always remaining aware of the current situation outdoors and the potential for wildfire,”
Campfires are only permitted at developed sites in the designated fire rings in campgrounds, picnic grounds and Yellow Post Sites. Outside of developed sites, only propane or gas cooking stoves are permitted.
Forest Road 3N14 Reopens from Fawnskin to Big Pine Flats
Pacific Crest Trail has been temporarily rerouted from Interstate 15 to Wrightwood away from the Sheep Fire burn area.
Vivian Creek Trail also has a temporary reroute near the trailhead for ongoing fuels reduction work.

CHIPPER DAYS UPDATE
During the month of June, the toll free chipping hotline has received over 650 requests for service. Over 570 requests for service have been processed
According to Chipping Program Coordinator, David Yegge, the community participation has been good, and the valley fire agencies want to remind everyone that they need to call the toll free Chipping Hotline at 1-877-771-CHIP (2447) to get their address on the chipping list.

2010 Music in the Mountains Summer Season |
The season will end with another returning favorite, Jim Curry’s Tribute to the Music of John Denver, on Saturday, September 4; Labor Day Weekend. Ticket prices are $20 for adults. Teen ticket prices for these shows are $10; children 12 and under and music-loving pets on leash will be admitted free to all events. Gates will open at 5:30pm for all three concerts; show begins at 7:00pm.

The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival is pleased to announce Clint Howard as the 2010 recipient of the Acting Award of Excellence. (See attached press release). I have also attached several images for your articules including headshots & the 2010 Festival poster.
The Big Bear Lake Film Festival, a non-profit organization, is celebrating its 11th anniversary at this year event: September 17th -19th, 2010.
