Boo in the Zoo, Big Bear Lake - you are invited to bring your children, as well as yourself dressed in costumes to a special afternoon of Tricks ‘n Treats at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo’s Boo in the Zoo Halloween event. There will be games, prizes and contests. Visit the “Graveyard” and the “Pumpkin Patch” as well as the goblins throughout the zoo. There could be special Halloween enrichment treats for the animals, so come and have fun and watch the zoo animals receive their special Halloween treats on the 3:00 pm feeding tour. And like years before, children can get lots of treats throughout the zoo from volunteers and vendors. This year’s Boo in the Zoo will be Friday, October 31, 2014 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Bring a pumpkin and get $1 off your admission. General admission will include Boo in the Zoo. Admission rates are: Adults $12.00; Children 3 to 10 years and seniors 60+ $9.00; under 3 years are free and Friends the Alpine Big Bear Zoo members are free.
The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a wildlife animal sanctuary, rehabilitation and education center founded in 1959 and is operated and owned by the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District. The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo was formed in 1989 as a non-profit public benefit corporation whose purpose is to support the Big Bear Alpine Zoo through: (1) Educating the public regarding treatment, protection, and conservation of wildlife; (2) Recruiting and coordinating zoo volunteers; and (3) Fundraising.
