SUMMERTIME: Plan your Summer/Fall vacation at a true mountain cabin. The Getaway in Big Bear Lake is an oasis of relaxation and luxury amidst the towering pine forest just a couple of hours drive from the city.
You and the family can chill-out and relax on the upper deck overlooking the forest and mountains. Enjoy scenic walks from your doorstep - take a vigorous hike or relaxing stroll through the mountains starting from your back yard, walk to the Moonridge Animal Park and Zoo (home of the famous Grizzly Bears) and the Golf Course.
The back yard is huge - there is lots of room for your little ones to play and explore - there is a bright red tent provided that you can set up in the yard for the kids.
Only a short 4 to 5-minute drive from restaurants, The Village, shops, lake and the East Boat Ramp, located on the north shore, just west of the Stanfield Cut-off (1/2 block east of Vons). This is a public launch ramp for boats, jet skis, kayaks etc., a great family picnic area and the Alpine Pedal Path (a must-see 3.5 mile easy walk along the lake).

HOME DESCRIPTION:
OUTDOORS: From the upper deck you really feel like you are in the forest ; the panoramic views of the mountains will invite you to relax on our canopy glider and read a good book (we have books). Dine or sip a glass of wine while enjoying the view from the glass and metal Italian-style outdoor bar. There is also a glass dining table & gas BBQ.
The lower deck verandah features a glass outdoor table, chairs, umbrella and aqua granite SPA to relax in after an active day outdoors. Get in touch with nature by watching the parade of birds and cute forest critters. Early summer the back yard is fringed with wild alpine roses.
INDOORS:The home is light & airy with lots of glass doors & skylights.
- The Great Room has a U-shaped sofa, a 37" HDTV, a stone fireplace, three 6X7 glass doors giving an open feeling with great views of the ski slopes and mountains.
- The Dining area has a log table, hickory chairs and slab benches. The bar counter in the adjacent kitchen also seats 4-6.
The Kitchen has a great view and is fully equipped with new stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, toaster oven, blender, Cappuccino machine and microwave. Lots of dishes and pots and pans for cooking.
- The Game Room has a Fooz-ball table, Bumper Pool table, Karoake, TV and DVD. cozy wood Electric Fireplace, Clothes dryer.
- There are 3 bedrooms downstairs & one and a half bedrooms upstairs. Log beds. The upstairs Bedroom has a King bed, a cozy Fireplace, and a HDTV; it has a small 5th bedroom off it with sturdy mission style bunk beds. The three downstairs bedrooms have Queen-size log beds and one bedroom has its own stone Fireplace. The bedrooms all have 6X7 glass doors leading to the forest and hiking trails

This great home is not in a tract-type neighborhood, it is in an area of unique homes in the kind of mountain setting you expect for your vacation getaway. It is located on the edge of the National Forest, and is surrounded by trees to ensure privacy & tranquility.
When you make an Online Booking two or more months in advance, we will charge 50% when the booking is made and the Balance 30 days before your check-in date.
On Holiday Weekend Bookings, the balance will be charged 60 days in advance.
On Xmas / New Year Holiday Bookings made in advance, the 50% balance owed will be charged on October 1st or when the booking is made if after 10/1.
On Bookings made 30 days or less in advance, the full amount will be charged at the time of booking.
The Security Deposit is charged the day before you check-in.
The home is Professionally cleaned and inspected.
Because some guests prefer to bring their own Linens & Towels, you may bring your own or we have a Linen Service available. When you Book Online for 2 people (1 bed made) the Linen Service is included. On bookings for 4 or more nights the Linen Service is included. Depending on the number of people, the Linen Service fee ranges from $120 for 12 people, $100 for 10 people. $80 for 8 people (4 beds made) -the $100 charge includes sheets for 1 King, 3 Queens, 2 Twins, 12 Bath Towels, 12 Hand, 12 wash. You also have a choice of Bed Linens only for $55 - housekeeper will make up the beds.
Pillows/ blankets / comforters, always included. Kitchen Towels / Facial Tissue / Bath Tissue / Paper Towels / Bath Soap/ Kitchen Soap / Trash Bags also included.

This upscale, Log-style home is located next to a major ski resort, on the edge of the National Forest, and is surrounded by trees to ensure privacy & tranquility.
Located just steps from the beginner run of Bear Mountain Ski Resort. No parking hassles, no cramming into the ski resort shuttle, no waiting for the "sleepy-head" and the kids can walk home for lunch. For being close to the ski resort the home is relatively sound-proof, so the snow guns won’t keep you awake. If you bring grandma and grandpa they can sit in the living room and watch the skiers and ski lift chairs going by through the trees. Level driveway for easy parking when its icy. Book early for the Ski Season as this home is very popular.
The Getaway is unique, because there are only a few vacation rentals in Big Bear Lake where you can ski from the home to the ski run. There is a huge back yard that leads to the forest for the kids to play in, while you relax, read a book or just enjoy breathtaking forest and ski slope views from the 2 large decks.
