HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Big Bear Lake Library

It’s
an Anniversary Gala for the Big Bear Lake
Library, a celebration of the 100 Years that it has
served the community. Everyone is invited to join in, on the festivities Saturday afternoon
September 26, at the Big Bear Lake Library. Gala hosts, the Friends of
the Big Bear Lake Library and the Adult Read-To-Learn Literacy Coalition extend
an invitation to the many friends who’ve benefited from the Library’s bookshelves
and various other services it has offered
Meet San Bernardino County Librarian,
assigned to the Big Bear Lake Branch Library, Jessica Deckert. Retired
Librarian Pamela Heiman will be present as well at the celebration. Heiman worked as librarian with San
Bernardino County in Yucapia for six years before moving to the library in Big
Bear Lake, where she served for nineteen years, retiring in 2013. She recalls
moving the library to the present Garstin Street location in 1991.
There will be several recognitions
presented by 33rd District Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, San Bernardino
County 3rd
District James Ramos, City of Big Bear Lake
Mayor Dave Caretto and City Manager of Big Bear Lake Jeff Mathieu and Big
Bear Lake City Councilman Randy Putz.
A ‘must see-to-believe it’
Trivia Contest will definitely be a fun attraction. As part of the 100 Books For 100 Years Campaign, books
may be purchased and donated to the Big Bear Lake Library, in your honor or someone the
purchaser wants like to honor.
The Friends of the Big Bear
Lake Library and the Adult Read-To-Learn Literacy Coalition are looking forward
to greeting the public on Saturday afternoon. The
Big Bear Lake
Library is located in Big Bear lake at 41930 Garstin Drive. Extra parking is available across the street from
the Library.
