 GOLDEN BEAR Cottages Fire 

 Big Bear Lake, CA___August 8, 2020___ A fully involved 2-story cottage and another cottage slightly damaged cottage,  was the scene the Big Bear Fire Crew observed when they responded to the structure-fire call Saturday morning after 2:00 A.M. from the owner, Don Dicarlo.  The destroyed vacation cottages are of several located on the resort property, a heavily treed area. 

Amidst firefighting efforts to the first structure, crews noticed the structure next door showing heat damage and small flames. All occupants of the cottages including other cottages were evacuated prior to arrival of the fire crews. Two vehicles were also destroyed by the fire. 

Big Bear Fire Fighters, San Bernardino County /Big Bear Lake Sheriff Deputy units commenced fire suppression activity with complete knock-down obtained within approximately 20-30 minutes. 

Big Bear Fire Battalion Chief Dan Rogers was on-scene and in command of the response by Big Bear Fire Department. CAL FIRE Crews and the Big Bear Sheriff Deputies provided assistance at the early Saturday morning incident scene.   

Cause of the fire is under investigation by Big Bear Fire Department.
