E.T.Russell ___   The Christmas Season began at 6:00 P.M. Friday November 28th when Santa Claus and his Mrs. made their Grand Entrance in the Village of Big Bear Lake. The weather was especially beautiful, more like a late Fall evening, when Valley visitors and residents gathered their children to greet the Christmas Holidays. The Big Bear Fire Fighters escorted Santa as they paraded their sleigh onto Pine Knot Avenue that was lined with anxious parents, grandparents and children; delivering the couple to the grandstand. There they met with other celebrants; near the Christmas Tree at its familiar location Pine Knot and Village Drive.   After the Christmas Tree was lit with bright colorful lights, emcee Steve Cassliing introduced the festive presentation with carolers, Christmas music and local dignitaries. The crowd joined in song of Christmas favorites and enjoyed the recently re-enhanced Village of strategically placed fire-pits, as well as stop by some of the artistic sculptures of wild-life.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting children at Santa’s House on Village Drive as they traditionally have done for many years gone by. Children are welcome to sit to whisper their wishes in Santa’s ear, every Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. through Sunday afternoon December 21st.

Sponsors of the holiday celebration, the City of Big Bear Lake, welcomes visitors to the community and invites everyone to explore the shops that offer unlimited gift ideas and incredible items, unique to the mountain shoppers.

  Saturday with Santa Claus

The Big Bear Fire Fighters were host to the Annual Big Bear City Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, late afternoon Saturday November 29th .  The Christmas Tree Park  is next-door to the Fire Department located at 301 W. Big Bear Boulevard.

Families brought the children to meet Santa Claus and join in with the Christmas Holiday Festivities that began at 5:00 P.M.   At 5:30 P.M. the beautiful Christmas Tree instantly was illumined with colorful lights. Excited children gathered to visit with Santa Claus in his temporary residence in the Big Bear City Fire House; while others snaked on cookies, hot coffee and cider.

Merry Christmas to All & A Happy 2015!
