Fatality and 3 Injured
Head-on Traffic Collision
Soon
after 2:00 P.M., Saturday 24, 2015, California Highway Patrol responded to a
head-on collision, with an ambulance responding also, on State Route-18 and Siberian
Creek Trail near the Snow Valley Ski Resort. Lisa Lynn Lehmann of Apple Valley,
was driving (V-1) a 1990 Chevrolet southbound on SR-18. At the same time, Mark
Steven Carter of Long Beach was driving (V-2) 2003 Ford northbound on
SR-18.
Lehmann’s
car crossed over the double yellow lines and drove into the northbound lane and
into the path of Carter’s car. Carter
attempted to move out of the path of Lehmann’s car, resulting in V-1 colliding head-on
with V-2.
Keary
McCarthy was driving (V-3) 1992 Toyota northbound on SR-18 directly behind Carter
car. As Lehmann’s car collided with Carter’s
car, the third car driven by McCarthy was unable to stop in time and collided
into the rear of V-2.
All
three vehicles came to rest on their wheels within the northbound lane of
SR-18; with V-1 facing south with V-2 and V-3 facing north, blocking the
northbound lane of SR-18.
Lisa
Lynn Lehmann 51, was transported by medical personnel to Bear Valley Community
Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Lehmann’s
passenger, 43 year old, Dominick Sincak of Apple Valley was transported by ambulance to
Loma Linda University Hospital for treatment.
Both
61 year old Carter and his passenger 56 year old Jamie Denice Blazek of
Middletown, VA were transported by ambulance to Bear Valley Community Hospital
for treatment.
CHP
Officer McGrath of the Arrowhead Area (located in Running Springs) is handling
the investigation.
