After dark, Tuesday December 22nd the
local Running Springs - Arrowhead
California Highway Patrol reports that CHP Officers responded to the scene
of a head-on accident involving two vehicles, about 6:46 P.M. on State Route-330, just south of the
middle passing lanes.
Party #1 (P-1) (Weiss), a 22 year old female out
of Burbank, California was diving Vehicle #1 (V-1) (Honda) southbound on
SR-330, just south of the middle passing.
She was negotiating a right hand turn at an approximate speed of 45
(P-2) (Callison), a 64 year old female from Running Springs, was driving
Vehicle #2 (V-2) (Nissan) northbound on SR-330, approaching the aforementioned
curve at a stated speed of 45 MPH.
For an unknown reason, Weiss allowed her Honda
to cross over the double
yellow lines and into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Honda collided
with Callison’s Nissan, head-on.
The force of the collision caused the Honda to
rotate 180 degrees, coming to rest on its wheels within the northbound lane,
facing in a northerly direction. The Nissan came to rest in the #2 lane, on its
wheels and facing in a northerly direction as well. Both vehicles sustained major traffic
collision damage as a result of this traffic collision.
Weiss was transported to Loma Linda University
Hospital by Running Springs Fire Department’s Ambulance # 51, where she was
listed in critical condition. For
precautionary reasons due to complaints of pain on both, Callision and her 14
year old female passenger they were also transported to Loma Linda University
Hospital by Running Springs Fire Department’s Ambulance # 51.
