Community Services District CSD

Do You know the JOHN GREEN, who many are familiar with him serving Big Bear Valley for years in important community services roles, such as: Community Services District (CSD), Big Bear Fire Authority (BBFA), Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency (BBARWA) and Bear Valley Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America (BVBGSA) ?

JOHN GREEN has served as President of the BBCCSD Board of Directors, Chairman of the BBARWA Board, Chairman of the BBFA Board, and Vice Chair of the newly formed Big Bear Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!"

JOHN GREEN a family-man with wife Stacy, their ‘born and raised in Big Bear Valley’ five children: Sara, Marie, Rachael, Catrina, and Tom, have claimed Big Bear City as hometown for 40+ years.

JOHN GREEN is the son of WWII Veteran Jack Green, whom we had the privilege of knowing until his death last year. John laments,  “Stacy and I were so grateful to have accompanied in 2017, my Father, Jack Green, 93 year-old WWII Purple Heart Veteran, to the American Military Cemetery in Luxembourg to visit the grave of his brother Leo Green.”

Why I ask You, the Voter to Re-Elect JOHN GREEN …..

“When asked why I serve, I reply, ‘because I want to serve and believe in the importance of giving back to the community.  When our children were young, I coached youth Soccer, Basketball and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts leadership.”

As a utility provider we must not be nearsighted but we must protect our infrastructure into the future!

We need to continue the good work of planning for the next 20, 40, 50 years and beyond. To that end we have developed long-term Strategic Plans at BBCCSD, BBARWA and BBFA.

I am proud to have participated in the merger of the BBLFPD and the BBCCSD Fire Departments, from the beginning, planning through where we are today with the unified Big Bear Fire Authority.  And bringing a permanently stationed life-saving helicopter to the Valley; a medical Air Ship to provide critical patient care services and emergency air transportation to Big Bear Valley.

Also, we’ve  created the Bear Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency, a joint agency of Big Bear City CSD, BBLDWP, MWD and BBARWA. We are working to keep 2.5 Million gallons of treated wastewater, daily here in Big Bear Valley to help keep the Big Bear Lake full, even in drought years, and for groundwater recharge, as well as several other benefits.

I cannot stress enough the importance of having a cohesive Board at the CSD; especially as it relates to the ongoing work we are doing on the Groundwater Sustainability Project.

I have worked for San Bernardino County Special Districts Water and Sanitation Division for the last 15 years.

Previously, I was a business owner of a manufacturing business with machine shops in Corona and Riverside. We manufactured over 5,000 CV Axles a month that we shipped globally.

Beside having been a long time resident of 40 years who understands the needs of the community.

I believe my experience working in the Water and Sanitation field and having been a Business owner makes me uniquely qualified to serve on the BBCCSD Board.

It is my belief that our employees at BBCCSD, BBARWA and the BBFA are our greatest asset and should be appreciated and treated as such!

I am privileged to have been endorsed by our 33rd District State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte, as well as, the Fire Fighters Association and the Big Bear City CSD employees Association.

I am asking for your Vote so we can continue with the important work we are doing to secure a Responsible and Sustainable Infrastructure future for Big Bear Valley

Thank you ..... PLEASE VOTE GREEN!
