Parcel Tax Measure F Renewal

Election Day:  June 3, 2014

Bear Valley Community Healthcare District – Parcel Tax Renewal Measure

Ballot Argument In Favor of Measure F

April 4, 2014 ____ WITHOUT RAISING YOUR TAX RATES – vote YES on F to PROTECT local access to life-saving medical emergency and healthcare services at Bear Valley Community Hospital.

For over 40 years, victims of accidents, heart attacks, strokes and other medical emergencies on the mountain have relied on Bear Valley Community Hospital for life-saving emergency medical care and other healthcare services.  This hospital is YOUR hospital – the local residents of Big Bear Valley own it.

Twice before, in 1994 and again in 2005, Bear Valley voters overwhelmingly approved a modest parcel tax to keep our local hospital OPEN, since we operate the ONLY Emergency Room (ER) on the mountain.

Voters understood then, that every second counts in a medical emergency and quick access to medical help when you need it most, SAVES LIVES.

Measure F will NOT raise your tax rates.  It simply extends, without increasing, the existing measure already approved by voters twice before.

Measure F will continue hospital funding to:

  • Maintain local access to life-saving emergency medical care

  • Keep the hospital’s medical technology and equipment up-to-date

  • Attract quality doctors, nurses and medical specialists to serve our community

  • Increase access to state-of-the-art medical care and treatments

ALL Measure F funds

(100%) will stay IN Bear Valley – FOR Bear Valley.

The State CANNOT take this funding away.

STRICT TAXPAYER PROTECTIONS ARE MANDATORY – including a clear system of accountability and annual financial audits to ensure the money is spent properly.

No one knows when a life-threatening medical emergency or natural disaster will strike our mountain community. Measure F helps ensure that emergency medical care close to home is accessible when you need it most.

Please join local doctors, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, former patients, and community leaders on the mountain in VOTING YES on F for Bear Valley Community Hospital.

Keep our ER open – VOTE YES on F!
