Tuesday August 29, 2017, San Bernardino ____
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is nearing completion of
the project to repair and replace damaged sidewalks, curbs, gutters, including three
traffic signals at various locations along State Route 18 (SR 18) in Big Bear
Lake.
This project was necessary to repair damage
caused by years of snow removal and base failure, and to perform sidewalk and
traffic upgrades to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
Final striping will take place between Pine
Knot Avenue and Stanfield Cut-off. Work will occur the nights of August 28 and
August 29 between 7:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M. One lane of traffic will be closed at
a time and there will be a flagging operation in place to control traffic.
Caltrans expresses its
gratitude to the City of Big Bear Lake, the businesses, and community members
for their patience and support during this project.
