THIS WEEK IN BIG BEAR LAKE…..

Monday, Big Bear Lake received a few welcome sprinkles of rain, but even the cloudy weather couldn’t diminish how beautiful the Village of Big Bear Lake looks this summer. There are flowers everywhere on the sidewalks and every streetlamp has two hanging baskets of Petunias – it looks like an amazing “garden” Village. Another addition this summer are many new “Bear” wood carvings throughout the Village.  If you are planning to come to Big Bear Lake this is the time to do it.

Summertime in Big Bear Lake means warm, comfortable days, cool star-bright nights and mountain air so clear you can see forever. Although Big Bear Lake is known as a high-altitude, ski town in the winter, in the summertime it becomes a gorgeous playground for boating, watersports, fishing, hiking, camping, cultural attractions and concerts – this Saturday, July 19, the Discovery Center will host their Music in the Mountains, celebrating the on-stage fusion of these two iconic classic rock legends and their music featuring “World’s Greatest” tribute bands, DSB, America’s Favorite Tribute to Journey, with special guest, The PettyBreakers, A Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Big Bear Discovery Center; gates open at 5:00pm; Showtime 6:00pm.  Next week, July 26 – August 3, the Big Bear Cycling Festival begins.
