Suspect in Custody for Terrorizing Children

Thursday, August 18, 2022, at about 12:30 P.M., San Bernardino County Big Bear Station Sheriff Deputies responded to the 500 block of Maple Lane Sugarloaf, California, after a witness reported a male subject making threats towards children.  Out of an abundance of caution, Big Bear High School and Baldwin Lane Elementary School were placed on lockdown.  The Sheriff Deputies conducted an area-check, although the suspect was not immediately located.

Both the High School and the Elementary School lockdowns were lifted, at 1:36 P.M., however, as a precaution, the Big Bear Station Sheriff Deputies remained at the schools until the children were dismissed for the day.

The Sheriff Deputies continued their search and contacted a subject, identified as Sean Loudy, who matched the description of the suspect. Loudy was arrested for making terrorist threats and taken into custody.  He was booked in at the San Bernardino County Big Bear Station Jail where he remains in custody on $50,000 bail. Sean Loudy is 40-years-old male and a resident of Big Bear City.
