Convicted Felon Arrested
for
Transportation of Controlled Substances
& Possession of Controlled
Substances While Armed
in Big
Bear Lake
Monday, August 1, 2022,
at about 9:56 P.M., San
Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy Estrada, assigned to the Big Bear Sheriff
Station, conducted a traffic
stop in the 40500 block of Big Bear Blvd. in the city of Big Bear Lake. The
driver was identified as Jeffrey
Copley, a 33-year-old, resident of Victorville.
During the stop, Deputy Estrada
observed controlled substances and conducted a search of the vehicle. A non-serialized
handgun commonly referred to as a ghost gun was located along with one
pound of suspected methamphetamines. Copley, a convicted felon, was arrested
for transportation of controlled substances and being armed while in possession
of controlled substances.
Copley was booked into
custody at the Big Bear jail and transported to West Valley Detention Center.
Copley is being held on $50,000 bail and an arraignment hearing in this matter was
set for Wednesday August 3, 2022, in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
