Victims, 1 Fatality
Fell at Big Falls
Sunday, July 24, 2022, San Bernardino County Fire
Department requested the assistance of San
Bernardino County Sheriff Aviation Air Rescue Team in reference
to two fall victims in Big Falls area. It was reported both the male and
female victim had fallen approximately 20 feet from the middle to the lower
falls.
The
helicopter, San
Bernardino County Sheriff Aviation - Air Rescue AR-307 responded to the
area and located the two victims in the lower falls. The female victim was
performing CPR on the male victim.
The San Bernardino County Fire responders arrived on scene to find the injured
male victim and was pronounced deceased. An Air Medic and a Rescue Deputy
were hoisted down to the scene to make contact with the patient.
The female victim was hoisted up to the helicopter and flown to awaiting
medical/ground personnel, then transported to Loma Linda University Medical
Center by American Medical Response crew for medical care to her injuries
sustained in the fall. Also, the male victim was hoisted out of Big Falls
and was flown for assistance by San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner.
