CHANGING LEAVES & HALLOWEEN In BIG BEAR LAKE

Although it is October it looked like “dog-days” in the Village this weekend. The Village is all decked out for Halloween with pumpkins and Halloween decorations everywhere and the dogs seemed to enjoy it as much as the people did. The Village shops are having a “Scarecrow” contest so there are many colorful scarecrow displays in front of the stores – you can vote for the best one; definitely worth a look-see.

Come Halloween there are several places to celebrate including Boo in the Zoo at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo in the afternoon, The Village at 5PM, Panic in the Park at Meadow Park at 6:30PM or Ship of Screams on the Miss Liberty Paddlewheel Boat at Pine Knot Marina at 6PM. Panic in the Park is an annual Haunted House where you can walk through a house filled with a live action cast of zombies and ghouls and things that go bump in the night from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Ship of Screams -the 64-foot boat transforms into an eerie, haunted vessel where guests walk through the boat’s corridors to discover the life of Carl van Dorvan, his corpse bride and the fate of the boat’s crew and passengers on a Halloween night many years ago. The Panic in the Park, Haunted House HAS BEEN CANCELLED per the Big Bear Valley Parks & Rec district.
