The Big Bear Lake Fire Department, established in the 1950’s, is enjoying a new state-of-the-art facility completed in the year 2000. The new facility has been designed for future growth with a multiple purpose EOC room. Because it is situated in a four-season resort area, this Station has special needs, so in addition to their engine truck, ladder truck & water tender, they have a snow cat for use during the winter.

Big Bear residents appreciate and know that many lives are saved because of the fast response of this Fire Dept. & Paramedics during fire and medical emergencies.

This Department supports community events, & they also want to remind everyone to use only designated campfire areas for a safe summer. Pictured below right, members of the Dept. enjoy a working lunch meeting. Below left, Capt. Rick Flint and fellow Fireman Kelvin McKelfish. An expert skier Capt. Flint sometimes works with Ski Patrol at the Ski resorts. For emergencies always remember to call 911.
