HER SHOES Event at the Community Church in Big Bear Lake.
Beginning Sunday, 12:00 Noon the DOVES’
WALK a MILE in HER SHOES, an annual event will ask for community support to
raise awareness, as well as funds in efforts to stop domestic violence. Civic
leaders, business owners, men, women, children and Valley walkers/visitors are
all invited to attend the fun, while showing their support.
Walkers will meet before noon, at the Community Church in Big Bear Lake,
located at 40946 Big Bear Boulevard. They will fit into women’s high-heels and
parade Pine Knot Avenue in the Village at Big Bear Lake. Male participants will
be fitted with large-size women’s shoes to wear during the event.
The whimsical efforts of walking in the high-heels, is a demonstration of
the difficulty that many women have experienced when faced with abuse.
