Big Bear Old Miners Chili Cook Off

On Saturday, July 14, is one of the biggest events offered
all year in the Big Bear area. At 10 a.m. the gates open for the 2012 ICS Old
Miners Chili Cook Off at the Convention Center. There will be entertainment,
shopping and great chili tasting. The day will be capped with a huge country
concert featuring Brent Payne and Dakota at the Convention Center. Payne has
opened for numerous musical artists including Garth Brooks; Willie Nelson; Buck
Owens; 38 Special; Charlie Daniels; Lee Greenwood; Vince Gil; Randy Travis; BJ
Thomas and Asleep at the Wheel.

Just before the concert Big Bull, or Richard Moll, will appear on
the stage to raffle a choice piece of his art show collection. It is a
beautiful representation of a Native American warrior in repose on the top of a
butte.

Next, on July 15, is the local’s competition for Best Chili; Best
Jelly Sandwich; Best Macaroni and Cheese and more at the Convention Center.
