United Wood Craftsmen

The focus of our work is to produce the finest Arts and Crafts Period furnishings available accurate in every detail, as they were hand made at the end of the 19th century by American firms and craftsmen. All our furniture is made with American quarter sawn white oak. All panels are solid wood and grain matched with care. Drawers are solid wood (no plywood bottoms) and fitted at the corners with dovetail joints. Colors are obtained using ammonia fumes, not stains. Each piece is executed by the craftsman using century old joinery techniques to ensure the integrity and longevity of the furniture. This time intensive process virtuly precludes the authentically joined work from being mass produced and retailed in the conventional manner, except in superficial looks, as witnessed by the many attempts of mass producers over the years.
