I first came to Big Bear around 1984 for a weekend vacation with my husband Patrick.  As we were driving into the Village, I told him that being from a small town I could see myself living here.  We spent the weekend, visited the village, went out on the Lake and I told him this feels like home to me. We returned to Big Bear a few more times and decided that we would look for a small cabin to use on the weekends, etc. and to try out “Living here”.  My husband Patrick and I purchased our first home in Big Bear Lake 28 years ago and lived as “part-timers” for 13 years. We loved visiting our small cabin every weekend so we built our “dream home, moved in as “full-timers”, and never looked back.  That was 15 years ago.

I retired from my position as Operations Manager for an Orthopedic Implant Manufacturer and Distributor and quickly became involved in my new community.  I volunteered with the Hike for a Diabetes Cure and soon became the Chair. That was the start of my volunteer career in the Big Bear Valley.  I then joined the local Soroptimist Club, served on the Board of Directors for several years and as Club President, working to improve the lives of women and girls. I currently hold a position with the Soroptimist Golden West Region.  I served on the Board of Directors for DOVES, a Domestic Violence Outreach Center and Shelter.  I am a member of the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District Foundation and have served as the President for the past 5 years.  I am a Director of the Education Trust which helps teachers provide quality education for our children by supplying volunteers in the classroom. I am a member of the Bear Valley Youth Foundation and, I am a member of the County Oversight Board of the Successor Agency to the Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency.

As you can see, I have worked tirelessly in my Community helping to improve the quality of life we all enjoy while living in our unique mountain environment.  Serving on the Big Bear Lake City Council as an extension of my Community Service.
