Department was notified of an inside investigation regarding a residence located
at the 500 block of Maltby Boulevard in
Big Bear City, at approximately 11:54 A.M., Saturday, March 4, 2023. Upon
arrival, fire crews observed the roof of the structure had collapsed inwards
which caused the exterior walls to bow outwards towards the neighboring homes.
Bear Valley Electric, Southwest Gas and Big Bear City Community Services
District Water Department were notified to discontinue services.
Observing
no injuries to the collapsed structure, the property was secured with NO ENTRY
fire line tape. The San Bernardino County Building & Safety Department was notified
immediately.

Vehicle Fire Occupants Okay


March 4, 2023
Big Bear Valley, CA___ Big Bear Fire#283 Firefighters
responded to a 911-call at 8:53 P.M., Saturday of a vehicle on fire in Sugarloaf
in the 500 block of Moreno Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene Firefighters found
a fully involved pickup, the occupants were already out of the vehicle.
The fire was contained to the motor compartment
and the passenger compartment. The Big Bear Fire Crew quickly extinguished the pickup
fire. with no injuries reported. Big Bear Fire #283 Battalion Chief Parham contacted
California Highway Patrol for a more extensive report, as cause of the fire is
undetermined, for the time being.
