July 4th BBQ Committee and membership are grateful for another
successful Independence Day at Big Bear Lake, California. July 4, 2017 marks the 40th Anniversary of the
Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake July 4th
BBQ Event that has delighted thousands over those years.
The BBQ Dinners are served in the large white tent at the Marina Resort on
Big Bear Lake shoreline. The BBQ Dinners of Baby-back Ribs, Garlic-lime Chicken, Black
Angus Tri-tip Sandwich, Notti-Burgers and Notti-Hot Dogs, with a wide selection
of non and alcoholic beverages are the luscious treats to the beginning of the evening’s
spectacular 4th of July Fireworks on Big Bear Lake.
Big Bear Valley families, businesses, organizations and visitors have
contributed to the annual fundraisers; some by purchasing individual dinner tickets
and others by generous donations. Big Bear Valley is a community known for its unconditional
giving to those of special needs.
All funds from the Rotary Club of
Big Bear Lake July 4th BBQ fundraiser make community projects
possible such as: Scholarships ($18,300
this year), Santa Claus visits (520 visits in December 2016), Senior Citizen
Holiday Luncheon (500+ served in December 2016), Dental Screening (for 500 +
elementary students), Interact (grades 7-12) Leadership programs, Big Bear’s Got Talent ($1,200 awarded to Performing Arts students).
