Congratulations to Big Bear High School and Middle School Students
November 2018___ The press was contacted by Voice
instructor, Diane Kubeja of Big Bear
High School and Middle School students who
recently participated in the NATS (National Association of Teachers of
Singing) Student Auditions at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on
Saturday, November 10. The
event was brimming with phenomenal singing by over 150 sudents from California,
Nevada and Utah.
The singing was so amazing in Division 4
that the adjudicators had to split the category into two parts and award
prizes to more than twice as many students as normal. There was
nearly a clean sweep by Big Bear High
School students in this division.

place – Jazmin Thompson who sang "Never Fall in Love with an Elf" at
the finals concert.

The 2019 High School Honors Performance Series
at Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House announced their finalists on October
31st.
The Big Bear High School students that will
be performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City in February 2019 are
Hannah Magers, Maggie Kubeja, and Sophia Rizzo. The students that will
be performing at the Sydney Opera House in Australia in August 2019 are Maggie
Kubeja and Troy Obernolte.
