Photo Opportunity is knocking! Friends of the
Big Bear Alpine Zoo are seeking photographers to take photos of the
Zoo’s beautiful animals for their annual calendar. Some of the residents
are grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions, foxes, wolves, and beautiful
snow leopards, just to name a few.
The 10th Annual Friends of the Big Bear Alpine
Zoo Photography Contest Photo-op Day is scheduled for Saturday July
9th on location of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. A Zoo Keeper will also
bring out smaller animals to the presentation area.
Entries will be judged on technical
quality, originality, and artistic merit. There are four categories:
Professional, Intermediate, Amateur, and Youth (under 18 years of age).

Each
submission must follow these guidelines:
· Photos must be
taken at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo
· All photos
MUST have been taken from January 1, 2016 to July 31, 2016.
· You must mail
the Contest Entry Form with the $20 registration fee (entry form available
online or at the zoo) with your CD/DVD by August 1, 2016.
· You can submit
up to 10 photos
The winners
will have their pictures featured in the upcoming 2017 Big Bear Alpine Zoo Calendar.
And as a Thank You for supporting the
Big Bear Alpine Zoo, all participants will receive a copy of the calendar.
The Friends of the
Big Bear Alpine Zoo was formed in 1989 as a non-profit public
benefit corporation whose purpose is to support the Big Bear Alpine Zoo
through: (1) Educating the public regarding treatment, protection, and
conservation of wildlife; (2) Recruiting and coordinating zoo volunteers; and
(3) Fundraising.
