Be batty About

Are you one of those who are batty about Bats? Big Bear biologist Linda Stammer sure is!  Stammer will share her enthusiasm for and knowledge of Bats at a Lunch & Learn event hosted by The Big Bear Valley American Association of University Women (AAUW).

The FREE presentation will be on Monday, October 29th at the Big Bear Discovery Center from Noon to 1:00 P.M.  This one-hour presentation will cover the habits, benefits and unique properties of bats. Attendees should bring their own lunch and drink. The event is open to the public, AAUW members, and guests.

The Big Bear Valley AAUW branch, whose mission it is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research, elects qualifying Big Bear 8th grade girls interested in the STEM fields—science, technology, engineering and math—to a week-long summer camp at the University of California in San Diego.  In 2018, 10 Big Bear middle school girls were sent to Tech Trek.

AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881.
