The Judds, known for their ‘duo’, Wynonna with her mother Naomi Judd made history in the country-music world with their many favorites that seemed to always have a message, such as ‘Love Can Build A Bridge’, the lyric goes on ‘between your heart and mine.’ After Naomi stepped aside when she was diagnosed with Type C Hepatitis, Wynonna went solo, but had some tough life hurtles to clear, with her inner-strength as well as, knowing when to seek help.

Los Angeles Times Randy Lewis

Wrote, “Singer Wynonna Judd opened a new chapter in her long career with the February 2016 album release of her very own band, ‘WYNONNA & The BIG NOISE’.  The ‘NOISE’ album is Wynonna’s first album release in seven years; the first in thirteen years, consisting of original material, including a track, ‘Things I Lean On,’ with a new video that The Times is premiering.”

Tell us about the know how the band dynamic fires up these songs?

Wynonna: “Like a garage band we all get in a room, basically knee to knee in a circle, and we jam until it feels so amazing. By the time we push record and we are already jacked up because we have practiced and practiced until we know we are rocking. The end result is even better than when we started out because we’re free to just play and enjoy ourselves.”

Cactus: “It creates more energy, more excitement and definitely a more unique sound to have our actual band play. When you have session players you just play differently. There’s less emotional input, less freedom!

These guys are with us 365 days a year and that was my goal…to have an actual living breathing band make a record, not just people who come in for the week and then are gone. Much better feel, much better vibe. AMEN.”

WYNONNA & The BIG NOISE’ is the perfect album; at just the right time for you…it is wise… with plenty of compelling emotional heart and life-affirming bravado…it comes on like a road map of your life…where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you are going!

Cactus is brilliant because of his faith and his willingness to just show up and let things happen authentically. I feel so grateful to have this passion right now that is, in my opinion, a miracle after 35 years of being an artist and striving to be better than the last project. I have stripped myself of all the expectations of worrying about fitting into any format and just picked songs I love. us an overview of the album and your mind-set when recording.

Wynonna: “I feel just as passionate about making this record as I did when Mom and I made our first record; and I made my first record as a solo artist. I have a new found passion for what it is God gave me the gift to do and it’s all because of my husband. He challenged me in a way that no one has ever–he stripped me of all my gimmicks and all my ‘go-to’s,’ and all the ways I’ve done things in the past. He said, ‘this is a new day and a new way to be’

Cactus tell us about how your role as producer impacted the album

Cactus: “It creates more energy, more excitement and definitely a more unique sound to have our actual band play. When you have session players you just play differently. There’s less emotional input, less freedom! These guys are with us 365 days a year and that was my goal…to have an actual living breathing band make a record, not just people who come in for the week and then are gone.  Much better feel, much better vibe. AMEN.”

“As a producer you try and bring a vision to the record. I partially feel like how it sounds--as well as the kinds of songs plus the styles of instruments we used--were all part of my vision and I think we actually really achieved that. It’s just THE Sound…...”

“Having a singer like Wy is one of those rare treats. Most producers don’t get that opportunity very often. You almost downplay the vocal when you make a record and with her there are so many amazing attributes in that voice I learned that it was almost another challenge because she can do so many things.

Wynonna and husband Cactus Moser married in 2012, after a long relationship. Right away they were on the same ’wave length’ as far as creating the new unique sound. She comments about Cactus, “He is brilliant because of his faith and his willingness to just show up and let things happen authentically. I feel so grateful to have this passion right now that is, in my opinion, a miracle after 35 years of being an artist and striving to be better than the last project. I have stripped myself of all the expectations of worrying about fitting into any format and just picked songs I love.

Favorites? When asked about her favorite songs, Wynonna claims “All of them 100%!

There’s so many highlights …. “Things That I Lean On,” “Jesus and A Jukebox,” “I Can See Everything,” “Something You Can’t Live Withoutand the ebullient (and Motown rhythm powered) “Stayin’ In Love,” plus the gritty “Ain’t No Thing,” “Keeps Me Alive” and “Cool Ya.”
