Again this year the American Legion Post #584, Big Bear Lake served local Veterans and families with Thanksgiving food baskets. Students in Teacher Sue Reynolds class at Bear Valley High School, held a Food Drive that gleaned a variety of canned goods, fresh vegetables, pies, breads, etc for plentiful holiday dinner. The Students delivered a pick-up load of foods to fill the baskets, to the Legion Lodge at 41606 Big Bear Boulevard. Bear Valley Electric supplied the turkeys to complete the baskets.

Women of the American Legion Auxiliary sorted and distributed the food items into the Family Baskets.  Auxilary president Connie co-ordinated the Thanksgiving food baskets activity

Auxiliary President Connie Vihlene, Mary Price, Sue Duff, Barbara Marty, Tina Snyder, Jai King, E T Russell made up the team, assisted by Commander Jim Lona and Frank Mrosek to organize the community project.
