Big Bear High School students cordially
invite the public to the Seventeenth Annual 9-11 Ceremony at Big
Bear High School. In tribute to those lost in the World Trade Center, New York
City tragedy, the solemn ceremony will begin at 6:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 11,
2018, at the High School Quad (outdoor area).
A total of 2,996 people died during the terrorist attacks
of September 11, 2001. This total includes 2,606 deaths at the World Trade
Center in New York City, 125 deaths at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., 246
passengers and crew on the four airplanes and the 19 hijackers.
Of the 2,996 deaths
on September 11, 2001, 1,762 were residents of New York and 674 were residents
of New Jersey. The fatalities at the North Tower of the World Trade Center
numbered 1,402, while 614 died at the South Tower. The deaths include 343 fire
fighters, 23 police officers and 37 Port Authority police officers.

In remembrance of what has been lost, as
well as honoring those who have, and are, serving. The 9-11 Ceremony will
include distinguished community members, as well as presentations by active and
past service members and veterans. All are invited to this community ceremony
of remembrance.
