Gender Bias and Inequality!

The 5th Annual Speech Trek sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) of Big Bear Valley, will be Wednesday February 24th. Eleven High School students will participate in the speech contest.

Each student will present an original 5-6 minute speech that express their personal thoughts about :

What is gender bias and inequality?

What is its impact on people?

Why should organizations such as AAUW

continue to work to change its practice?

According to AAUW, gender bias has been a part of human history around the world, and is still present in most world cultures.  All contestants will receive recognition. The speakers will compete for cash awards.

AAUW is once again partnering with Bearly Speaking Toastmasters to co-produce the event. The student speakers have learned some good speaking skills from the Toastmasters.
