COLD, at 11:30 A.M. Big Bear Lake, California
Storm
Alerts have been consistently being reported and updated by local Fire
Departments, Caltrans and California Highway
Patrol reporting on traffic accidents, traffic problems, road closures (
reminder: There are only three (3) roads in and out of Big Bear Valley.
Weather & Roads UPDATE:
State Route 18 - Is CLOSED
from the Highland area north of the State Route 330
Junction to Snow Valley to the Big Bear Lake Dam, due to a Rock
Slide & Caltrans reconstructing since the Valentines Day incident. the
CHAINS
are Required on All Vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on
all 4 wheels and carry chains that are sized to the vehicle.
State Route 38 - Is
CLOSED from the east of Mentone at Bryant
Street to west of State Route 18
to Erwin Lake/Big Bear City communities.

BRING CHAINS TO MOUNTAIN AREAS!

WE ASK that Everyone stock vehicles with water, snacks, blankets, a charged
cell phone, flashlight and a full tank of gas before going to mountain regions.
