Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi

 

  

U.S. Army Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi, commander of the 916th Support Brigade at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif., arrives at Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow's Yermo Annex by helicopter to oversee railway operations, Nov. 3. Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi was commissioned in May 1993 as a Second Lieutenant upon completing Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia and branched in the Transportation Corps. COL Ruedi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Sports Medicine from The State University of New York, College at Brockport and a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Ruedi’s military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College. He has also completed the Joint Military Education Phase II Course, Joint Planner’s Course, Support Operations Officer Course, Maintenance Officer Course, Air Movement Operations Course, Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Course, Master Fitness Trainer’s Course, Airborne and Air Assault Courses.

Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi’s military assignments include Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a Lieutenant where he served as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Detachment Commander of two separate units before departing for the advanced course.

As a Captain, Ruedi was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas where he served as the Officer in Charge of the Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (A/DACG) followed by the Division Transportation Officer, Task Force Hood, 1st Cavalry Division. Ruedi then assumed command of HQ/A Company 115th FSB, 1st BDE, 1st Cavalry Division.

After company command, Colonel Ruedi was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York, where he served as the Task Force Transportation Officer deploying them to Kosovo followed by being assigned as the assistant operations officer of the DISCOM serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

As a Major, Matthew H. Ruedi was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood as the Division Transportation Officer and deployed the division to and from Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 05 – 07. He was later assigned to the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade as the Support Operations Officer serving in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 08 – 10.

Upon promotion to Colonel Matthew H. Ruedi was assigned as the Deputy G3 FUOPs at III Corps & Fort Hood until assuming command of the 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2BCT, 1CD from April 2010 – May 2012 followed by assignment as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G4, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
