Problems Near INTERSTATE-15 CORRIDOR

Impacting Big Bear Valley

July 18, 2018

Big Bear Lake, CA ____ The Big Bear Fire Department and Big Bear Sheriff Department alerted the Big Bear Valley media of Land-line Phones temporarily out of 9-1-1 service, late Wednesday afternoon.

An aerial communication line along the I-15 corridor has been knocked out-of-service affecting landline communications to the 9-1-1 system in the Big Bear Valley. It is not known yet how much of the Big Bear Communities are being impacted but it is confirmed that certain areas are impacted.

If a caller on a landline experiences problems getting through to 9-1-1, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is directing 9-1-1 Callers with Emergency needs to call 909-387-8313.

At that point the caller will be directed to either fire or law enforcement depending on need.

This situation is not impacting cellular phones.

Crews will be on-scene to repair the line shortly, but at this time, it is unknown how long the landline service to 9-1-1 will be down.
