Evacuations began immediately in the surrounding communities.  

 

News was released to the press networks about Noon Wednesday of a major incident wildfire that had broke-out east of Hemet, California. Multiple agencies with ground crews, heavy earth-moving equipment, as well as air assault immediately responded. The wildfire was named, CRANSTON.

An update at 2:00 P.M. was issued that the fire had rapidly spread to 800+ acres. By 2:13 P.M. San Bernardino County Fire STRIKE TEAM #6230 (5 Engines) were responding to the Cranston Fire. 

At 5:00 P.M. it was reported that the fire had spread to more than 8000 acreage.
