State Route 38 REOPENS
With Advisement

Caltrans District 8, in unified command
with fire and law enforcement agencies, reopened State Route 38 (SR-38) at 8:00 A.M. Saturday morning, June 27.
State Route 38 Thursday June 18th, at approximately
3:00 A.M. due to the Lake Fire
incident in the San Bernardino National
Forest. The Lake Fire began June
17 at 4:00 P.M. The latest updates from
the United States Forest Service (USFS)
and San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services, state that the Lake Fire has burned over 30,000 acres
and is 40% contained.
Motorists
are advised that the speed limit is reduced in
various locations on SR-38 in the
fire area for emergency responders as they
continue fire operations.

Please be advised that access to connecting roadways on the south
side of SR-38 are limited. Caltrans urges
motorists to continue to use SR- 330 and SR-18 as alternate routes to Big Bear Valley, to alleviate excess
traffic on SR-38 until the fire
incident has been closed.
