Big Bear Valley Historical Society General Meeting will be Thursday August 13th at 7:00 P.M. at the Discovery Center located on North Shore Drive.

Author Jim Hickman, of Hikes in the Historical Areas of Big Bear Valley, is the guest speaker for the evening. Hickman enjoyed many hiking excursions during the 1980’s, including some with early Big Bear Valley Historical Society pioneer, Ed Abbott. In addition, he will present a portion about the history and stories pertaining to the Eye of God rock formation that is located northeast of Baldwin Lake.

Everyone is welcome to purchase tickets for the opportunity drawing. The proceeds will help build the Building and Expansion Fund for the Big Bear Museum. After the program, there will be a great time for the drawing of special items, visits with friends and delicious refreshments.

Everyone is invited to join friends for the Eye of God Field Trip, Friday August 14th at 8:30 A.M. Meet in the Museum parking lot at 800 Greenway in Big Bear City. It’s an easy drive and an easy walk, for those who wear walking shoes and pack the water bottles to keep hydrated.‚Äč
