Injured Hiker Hoisted From Trail
Big
Bear Sheriff Deputies responded to a search and rescue call on Bear Mountain,
Wednesday afternoon to find a male adult who reported he had fallen and broken
his ankle while hiking and was unable to walk out on his own.
With
the assistance of employees at Bear Mountain Resort and the Big Bear Fire Emergency
responders, the victim was located one mile east of the Geronimo Ski Run. Due
to the treacherous terrain of where the victim fell, the Air Rescue Division of

parking lot at Bear Mountain. The victim was subsequently transported by
ambulance to Bear Valley Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The
Big Bear Sheriff’s Station thanks the Big Bear Fire Department and especially
