Hospital Invites Big Bear Valley

March 31, 2013 ____ The Bear Valley Community Health Care District (BVCHD) is inviting the community of Big Bear Valley to a Financial Summit, which will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the Big Bear Masonic Lodge, 385 Summit Blvd. in Big Bear Lake. Desserts and refreshments will be provided.
The Summit will include a presentation by Interim CEO Raymond Hino and CFO Rudolph Shutta. They will provide a summary of the services provided by the District, an overview of the District’s current financial situation, which will include an update on the construction of the Brenda Boss Family Resource Center, as well as a plan of action as to how the District intends to address current financial issues. “I want every person that attends to walk away with not only a strong understanding of the challenges presented by the District’s current financial situation, but also with a clear overview of how the board and administration intend to address our fiscal situation and make the necessary changes for the betterment of the community and the District,” commented Raymond Hino, Interim CEO.
BVCHD Board President, Barbara Willey stated, “The District has experienced many financial challenges in recent years, but I believe that the new board and management have now developed a cohesive and comprehensive plan of action that will enable the District to weather the challenges ahead.
Our intent for this Summit is to provide transparency in our community and include the public in the discussion as we improve the overall business of the District.” Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the current and future financial viability of the hospital, as well as receive additional information on District services along with information about the Brenda Boss Family Resource Center. “We know the community has a lot of questions and concerns about the District. At the Summit it is our intent to give the public all of the information along with engaging them in a productive conversation so that we may move forward to improve our financial situation using a strategic plan of action,” stated Raymond Hino.
