City Manager of Big Bear
Lake Jeff Mathieu and the City Council of Big Bear Lake are pleased to announce
that two new outstanding staff members have joined the City’s already strong
management team.
The Big Bear Lake’s newest staff members, Planning
Director Jae Hill and Chief Building
Official Steve Raney were formally introduced to the City Council at the Monday
July 8th evening meeting.
Jae Hill comes to the City as an
AICP certified planner with many years of professional Planning experience in
mountain resort communities including the City of Sun Valley, Tahoe Regional
Planning Agency, City of Redmond and Fairbanks North Star Borough.
Steve
Raney
is a Certified Building Official that has an extensive California municipal
building inspection and plan review background. He gained this experience by
working for the State of California, San Bernardino County and the City of
Pasadena throughout his professional career.
These new team members will complete the
reorganization that began in December 2018 resulting in the promotion of Kelly Ent Director of Government Services,
John Harris Director of Development Services and Erica Stephenson City
Clerk/Director of Administrative Services.
Kelly Ent has been employed with
the City for 18 years gaining the City national recognition for excellence in
budgeting and financial reporting and has been instrumental in managing the
City’s administrative functions including Risk Management, Information
Technology and Fiscal Services. Prior to joining the City, Kelly obtained her
license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the University of
Illinois and had a professional career as a Chief Financial Officer and
extensive experience facilitating corporate mergers and acquisitions throughout
the country.
John
Harris
had a prestigious career managing military aircraft test and development
projects, prior to obtaining his Professional Engineer license and working as
the Public Works Director and City Engineer for the City of Montrose, Colorado.
Since joining the City of Big Bear Lake in 2017, John has been instrumental in
various public improvement projects, improved traffic management, and has
strengthened the City’s collaborative relationships in his role overseeing the
Engineering and Public Works departments.
Erica
Stephenson
after obtaining her business degree with an emphasis in human resources started
her career in this field and brought her human resources management and payroll
expertise to the City over 15 years ago. Since joining the City, she has been
primarily responsible for oversight of Human Resources, the Performing Arts
Center, General Government Services and has been instrumental in working with
the City Manager to assemble this exceptional team.

enhance the quality of life for our Big Bear Lake residents and to enrich the
overall visitor experience, while preserving Big Bear Lake’s status as Southern
California’s premier four season resort destination.” Comments
